At Tilaa, we generally support the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model. This allows you to leverage your existing investments by using software licenses you have already purchased.
However, there are specific restrictions regarding Microsoft Operating Systems due to licensing regulations.
Restriction: Windows Server OS
Due to our Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) with Microsoft, we cannot accept client-provided licenses for the Windows Server Operating System itself.
When you order a Windows VPS at Tilaa, the license for the OS is legally required to be provided by us.

What licenses can I bring?
You are free to use your own licenses for almost any software running on top of the Operating System. Common examples include:
- Microsoft Applications: You may bring your own licenses for Microsoft SQL Server, Remote Desktop Services (RDS / CALs), Exchange, or SharePoint (via License Mobility if applicable).
- Linux Software: You are free to install and license any software on Linux, such as cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, or proprietary business applications.
- Third-Party Tools: Any other commercial software requiring a license key.
If you are unsure about the validity of a specific license on our cloud platform, please feel free to contact our support team for clarification.
