Yes. Tilaa allows you to create a geographically redundant setup where a service can failover seamlessly between our data centers.
Unlike many cloud providers that restrict IP addresses to a specific physical zone, our network architecture allows for Cross-Datacenter IP Mobility between Haarlem and Amsterdam.
How it works (Geo-Redundancy)
Because our two locations are connected via a redundant, low-latency fiber ring, we can route your IP subnet to either location dynamically.
You can run your primary application in Haarlem and your standby replica in Amsterdam.
If a total disaster (e.g., fire or major power outage) hits Haarlem, your public IP address can be rerouted to Amsterdam, bringing your standby environment online with minimal downtime.
Configuration Scenarios
This capability enables advanced high-availability setups, such as:
- Active/Passive Failover: One site handles traffic; the other is on standby.
- Anycast / Load Balancing: Distributing traffic across both sites (requires advanced BGP setup).
- Database Replication: Running synchronous or asynchronous replication between sites thanks to the low network latency.
Requesting a Solution Design
Implementing cross-datacenter failover often requires a specific network design tailored to your application logic (e.g., using BGP, heartbeat protocols, or API triggers).
Our network engineers are happy to assist you in designing this topology.
