The Video Display acts as a direct, physical monitor connected to your server. It allows you to control your VPS via your browser, independent of your network configuration.
When to use this?
You should use the Video Display when standard connection methods (SSH or RDP) fail, for example:
- Firewall lockouts: You accidentally blocked your own IP or the SSH port.
- Network issues: The server has no internet connection.
- Boot errors: You need to see why the operating system isn't starting (e.g., stuck at boot screen).
Limitations:
- No Copy/Paste: You cannot copy text from your computer and paste it into the Video Display. You must type passwords manually.
- Keyboard Layout: Ensure the console is interpreting your keystrokes correctly (especially special characters in passwords) by typing a few test characters first.
How to open the Video Display
-
Log in to the MyTilaa Dashboard.
-
Click on VPS in the menu and select the server you want to access.
-
Launch the Console.
Scroll down to the Tasks section and click the button Video Display.
Using the Console
A new window will open showing your server's screen.
- Log in: Use your keyboard to type your username (root/Administrator) and password.
- Send Keys: If you need to reboot or log in to Windows, use the Ctrl-Alt-Del button located in the top bar of the console window.
