All you need to know about Cloud Database

We have begun to deploy MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, which are managed in our cloud environment. With this product, you no longer need to manage your own databases and can instead leave it to us. You can choose between a 1 node, 2 node, or 3 node cluster.

Cloud Database: 1 node database

A 1 node Cloud Database means that all data is written to a single database and that there is no failover if the database is extensively used. You have the options to write/read from the database for, for example, your website or your software. The 1 node option is perfect for testing or to use in a development environment. Because access to your database is restricted by default, we require the IP addresses of the servers/applications that are permitted to connect to it. Read on to learn more about the possibilities and functions we'll be introducing.

Cloud Database: 2 node database

A 2 node Cloud Database stores all data on two different servers in our cloud environment. This increases stability because all data is replicated to both servers. In the event of issues with the active server, the other server will take over and save all data. These databases are also in sync with one another, so all data can be found on the main IP address. When a server fails, we will do everything possible to recover it as soon as possible. During recovery there will be no downtime.

Cloud Database: 3 node database

A 3 node Cloud Database means that all data in our cloud environment is stored on 3 different servers. The same holds true for the second node. We provide extra stability with the extra node; the possibility of the database being inaccessible is almost impossible.

Cloud Database features

Maintenance of your clusters

The cluster is managed and maintained by Tilaa. We make sure that the underlying system is operational and up to date. You as customer are responsible of the data-structure and the correctness of the data

Running SQL queries

You can structure databases and tables however you want within your Cloud Database.

Features that can be requested from support

You will need to contact support for the functions listed below. Send us an email, and we'll make the necessary changes within the SLA.

Update the IP firewall whitelist

If IP addresses that can connect to the database are added or removed, they can be forwarded to support. They will then add this IP address and, if successful, notify you that you can connect from that address.

Creating new users

If a new user needs to be added, we need the name for this account. A password will be set up.

Canceling your Cloud Database subscription

If you want to cancel Cloud Database, you can do so by contacting us. Cloud Database will remain accessible until the end of the month. We can always create a credit note if this is not desired.

Scaling up your Cloud Database

Do you want to switch from 1 node tot 2 or 3 node clusters? Please contact support, we’re happy to help.

Add extra resources (storage, RAM or CPU)

If you want to increase the storage, RAM or CPU power of your database, simply contact support. We will give you the new price and, if the price is agreed, we will upgrade the database for you.

Features that are coming in the future

Automated backups

Making backups of your Cloud Database data will be your responsibility for the time being. This feature will be available in the future.

New interface for managing Cloud Database

We're working hard on a new Cloud Portal to manage all of our services. Keep an eye out for all updates in our newsletter and on our website.

Manage Cloud Database with APIs

With the new portal, new APIs will be made available to automatically activate our services.
